One sofa, one piano, one wardrobe: moved with the same care as a whole house
Collection and delivery of individual items — furniture, appliances, marketplace purchases, heavy or awkward pieces — locally and across the UK.
What it is
A single item is often harder to move than a van full of boxes. A three-seater sofa has to make the turn on the stairs; an American fridge freezer has to be kept upright and strapped; an upright piano weighs as much as a small car and cannot be tilted. These are two-person jobs with the right equipment, not a favour with a hatchback.
We collect and deliver individual items for private customers and businesses: furniture bought second-hand or from a marketplace, appliances, beds and mattresses, exercise equipment, garden items, artwork, and the occasional piano or safe. The item is wrapped in blankets, secured in the van, and carried into the room you want it in.
For local jobs around Ilford and East London the van is often with you within a day or two. For longer distances we can either send a dedicated vehicle or fit the item into a planned route, which is usually cheaper if you can be flexible on the day. We will offer both where both are possible.
If you are buying from a private seller we will deal with them directly for collection: confirming the address, agreeing a time and checking the item on collection so any damage is noted before it is loaded.
What affects the price
No figures until we know the job. These are the things that move a single item and furniture delivery quote up or down, and why.
- Size and weightone person or two
Boxes and small furniture go with one driver; anything a person cannot safely carry alone needs two, and specialist items like pianos need the right kit.
- Access at both endsstairs and doorways
The floor, the width of the stairs and whether the item can be dismantled all decide how long the job takes.
- Dedicated or sharedyour date or ours
A dedicated van on your date costs more than fitting the item into a route we are already running. If you are flexible, say so.
- Distancelocal to nationwide
Local jobs are priced on time; longer ones on mileage and hours.
- Dismantlingbeds and wardrobes
Some items must come apart to move. Tell us and we will allow for it and bring the tools.
What we need from you
The information that turns an enquiry into an accurate quote. Have it ready and the quote comes back faster and closer to the final price.
- What the item is, with dimensions and rough weight if you know them
- A photo, especially for anything unusual
- Collection and delivery postcodes, floors and parking
- Seller or collection contact details if it is not your address
- Whether the item needs dismantling
- Whether you need a fixed date or can be flexible
How it works
Tell us about the item
A quick enquiry with the item, a photo and both postcodes is enough.
Quote with options
Dedicated van on your date, or a flexible slot on a planned route where that is possible.
Collection
We confirm with the collection contact, check the item, wrap it and load it.
Delivery
Carried in and placed where you want it; reassembled if we took it apart.
One item still gets two people when it needs two people.
A sofa on a winding staircase is not a one-person job, and we will not pretend it is to win the quote.
Questions people ask
Can you collect from a private seller if I am not there?
Yes. Give us their name, address and phone number. We will arrange the time with them directly and let you know when it has been collected.
Do you move pianos?
We move upright pianos with two people and the right equipment. Tell us the model, the floor at each end and the stairs, and send a photo of the route out. Grand pianos are quoted individually.
How is a single item priced?
On the time and the crew it takes, and whether you need a vehicle on a specific day or can accept a slot on a route. The quote will show both where both are available.
Will you check the item before loading?
Yes. Any existing marks or damage are noted at collection so everyone knows the condition it left in.
Can you deliver to a different part of the UK?
Yes. For long distances we will tell you whether it is a dedicated run or fits a planned route, and the timing of each.
Ready to quote your single item and furniture delivery?
Send a quick enquiry or the detailed brief. Either way you get a written quote, not a phone estimate.
