Multi-drop rounds planned so every stop gets the right goods
A vehicle loaded with several consignments for several addresses, delivered in a planned sequence on the same day, with proof of delivery at each.
What it is
Multi-drop is the right service when one customer has several deliveries to make on the same day: a wholesaler sending orders to a dozen shops, a manufacturer delivering to sites around London, a business sending equipment to branches, or a caterer with fixed drop times. One vehicle, one driver, a planned sequence of stops.
The planning is the service. Before the day we take your delivery list, sequence it for the road and any timed stops, and load the vehicle in reverse order so the first delivery is nearest the doors. Each consignment is labelled to its stop and checked off on delivery with a signature, so at the end of the round you know exactly what went where and when.
We run multi-drop rounds within London, across the South East and further along the main corridors for customers with regional delivery lists. Rounds can be one-off, for an event or a product launch, or regular, for customers who deliver on the same days each week.
Multi-drop is priced per round rather than per drop, based on the number of stops, the distance and the time the round takes. It is usually considerably cheaper per delivery than sending each consignment separately.
What affects the price
No figures until we know the job. These are the things that move a multi-drop delivery quote up or down, and why.
- Number of stopsthe main driver
Each stop adds handling and time. Rounds are priced on stops, distance and time together.
- Geographyspread of the round
Ten stops within three postcodes is a different round from ten stops across the South East.
- Timed stopsfixed windows
Deliveries that must happen within a window constrain the route and sometimes the number of stops one vehicle can do.
- Consignment sizevehicle class
The combined volume of all the drops decides the vehicle.
- Handling at each stopkerbside, inside, checked
Whether goods are handed over at the door or carried in and checked with the recipient affects the time per stop.
What we need from you
The information that turns an enquiry into an accurate quote. Have it ready and the quote comes back faster and closer to the final price.
- The delivery list: addresses, contacts, what goes to each
- Any timed windows or opening hours at stops
- Total volume and weight, and the largest single item
- Collection point and the time goods will be ready
- Paperwork you want signed at each stop
- Whether the round will repeat, and how often
How it works
Send the delivery list
Addresses, contacts, consignments and any timed stops.
Route plan and quote
We sequence the round, confirm the vehicle and quote the whole round in writing.
Loading
Consignments labelled to their stop and loaded in reverse delivery order.
The round
Each stop delivered, signed for and checked off. Updates on request.
Report
A list of deliveries with times and signatures sent to you afterwards.
Ten stops. One vehicle. Ten signatures.
Loaded in reverse order, delivered in sequence, reported back with times. A round priced as a round, not as ten separate jobs.
Questions people ask
How many drops can one vehicle do in a day?
It depends on the spread of the addresses, the size of each consignment and whether stops are timed. Send us the list and we will tell you whether it fits one vehicle or needs two.
Can you deliver in a fixed order?
Yes, if the route allows. Fixed sequences and timed windows are planned in before the day.
What if a recipient is not there?
We follow the instruction you give us in advance: leave safe, try again at the end of the round, or return to you. Failed stops are noted in the report.
Do you provide proof of delivery for each stop?
Yes. Every drop is signed for and the round report lists each one with the time.
Can this be a regular weekly service?
Yes. Regular rounds are set up under business contract work with agreed days, rates and invoicing.
Ready to quote your multi-drop delivery?
Send a quick enquiry or the detailed brief. Either way you get a written quote, not a phone estimate.
