Removals
Office moves that put your team back to work on Monday morning
Relocation of offices, workshops and commercial premises: desks, IT, filing, stock and fittings moved to a plan, usually outside your working hours.
What it is
A commercial move is judged on one thing: whether people can sit down and work at the new address when they expected to. Everything we do is organised around that, from the sequence in which floors are cleared to the way crates are labelled so that a person, not a job number, knows where their things are.
We begin with a walk-round or a detailed brief. Desk count, chairs, storage, meeting furniture, the IT that must be handled separately, anything under maintenance contract that the supplier needs to disconnect, and the archive or stock that may be moving to a different location altogether. From that we produce a schedule: what moves when, in what order, and what the building at each end requires of us in terms of insurance certificates, lift bookings and hours.
Most office moves happen in the evening or over a weekend so the business is not interrupted. The crew arrives with crates, labels, floor protection and the tools to dismantle and rebuild desk systems. Workstations are broken down and rebuilt in the same configuration, monitors and peripherals are bagged and tagged to the desk they belong to, and filing is moved in order so nothing has to be re-sorted.
We handle small offices moving a single floor in Ilford or the City, and larger relocations phased over several nights. We also move workshops, clinics, studios and retail units where the contents are less about desks and more about equipment, stock and fixtures.
What affects the price
No figures until we know the job. These are the things that move a office and commercial removals quote up or down, and why.
- Scope and phasingone night or several
The number of workstations, storage units and specialist items sets the crew and vehicles; whether it must all happen in one window or can be phased sets the plan.
- Out-of-hours workingevenings, weekends
Working outside normal hours is usual for office moves and is priced as such. Knowing the building's access hours at both ends lets us quote the right window.
- Building requirementslifts, insurance, method statements
Managed buildings often require risk assessments, insurance certificates and a booked goods lift before a crew is admitted. We supply what is asked; you tell us what the landlord needs.
- Dismantling and rebuilddesk systems, shelving
Bench desks, partitions and racking take time to break down and rebuild correctly. We allow for it in the quote when you tell us what you have.
- IT and specialist itemsservers, printers, safes
Some items need a specialist or the supplier's engineer. We identify these early so responsibility is clear and nothing is left unmoved.
- Crates and materialshire, delivery, collection
Crate hire with delivery before the move and collection after is quoted as a separate line so you can see it.
What we need from you
The information that turns an enquiry into an accurate quote. Have it ready and the quote comes back faster and closer to the final price.
- Both addresses, floors, goods lift details and loading bay arrangements
- Headcount and a rough inventory: desks, chairs, pedestals, cupboards, meeting furniture
- IT equipment to be moved and who is responsible for disconnecting it
- The move window: dates, and hours the buildings allow
- Documents each landlord requires before admitting a crew
- A floor plan or desk numbering for the new office if you have one
How it works
Brief or walk-round
We take an inventory and note the access, hours and building requirements at each end.
Schedule and quote
A written plan of what moves when, with the crew, vehicles, crates and labour set out and priced.
Crates and labels delivered
Staff pack their own desks into labelled crates to a simple scheme; we can pack shared areas if you prefer.
The move window
Workstations dismantled, IT bagged and tagged, everything loaded in floor-plan order and driven to the new site.
Rebuild and place
Desks rebuilt to plan, crates delivered to the right desk, meeting rooms and storage set up.
Crate collection
Once your team has unpacked, we collect empties and any packaging.
Your team should not know we were there, except that everything is where it should be.
Out-of-hours moves, labelled crates, desks rebuilt to the plan. The measure of a good office move is a quiet Monday.
Questions people ask
Can you move us over a weekend so we lose no working days?
Yes. Most office moves we do are evening or weekend jobs. The quote will show the window we are working to and what happens if the building restricts hours.
Do you supply crates?
Crate hire can be included in the quote as its own line, with delivery ahead of the move and collection afterwards.
Who disconnects and reconnects our IT?
We move IT equipment; we do not configure it. Your IT team or provider disconnects and reconnects. We bag cables and peripherals with the machine they belong to so reconnection is straightforward.
Our landlord wants insurance documents before the move. Can you provide them?
Tell us what the building requires and we will supply the documents that apply to your job in advance.
We have old furniture we do not want to take. Can you help?
Tell us what it is and we will advise on the options and any cost involved. Disposal is priced separately so it does not blur the moving quote.
