A dedicated vehicle: your load, your route, nothing else on board

A van or truck booked solely for your consignment, collected and delivered direct without transhipment or other customers' goods.

What it is

Dedicated transport means the vehicle carries only your consignment. It is collected when you say, driven directly to the delivery point and unloaded, with the same driver throughout. Nothing is transferred through a depot, nothing is consolidated with another customer's goods, and nothing waits for a route to fill.

That directness is what businesses pay for when a consignment is urgent, fragile, high-value, awkward or confidential, or simply when the delivery has to happen at a fixed time that a shared service cannot promise. It is also what many customers choose for long-distance house moves and for large single items where a full removals crew is not needed.

We run dedicated work from small vans up to 7.5-tonne trucks with tail lifts, so the vehicle can be matched to the load rather than the load squeezed into what is available. The driver can help load and unload where the consignment allows it, or wait while your forklift does the work.

Tell us what is moving, its dimensions and weight, where and when. We will quote the vehicle class, the route and the time, and put it in writing. If a return load or a second drop would make the job more economical for you, we will say so.

What affects the price

No figures until we know the job. These are the things that move a dedicated van and truck quote up or down, and why.

  • Vehicle classvan to 7.5t

The dimensions and weight of the load decide the vehicle, and a bigger vehicle costs more per mile. Accurate dimensions get you the smallest suitable vehicle.

  • Distance and routemileage, tolls, time

Dedicated work is priced largely on the miles driven and the hours involved, including any crossings or tolls on the route.

  • Loading and unloadingwho does it, how long

Whether the driver loads by hand, a forklift is available, or a tail lift is needed changes the time on site and sometimes the vehicle.

  • Timingday, night, weekend

Out-of-hours collection or delivery, or a fixed delivery slot, is quoted for what it costs to provide.

  • Waiting timestated in advance

The quote includes a loading and unloading allowance and states the rate beyond it, so delays at either end are never a surprise.

How our pricing works, in full

What we need from you

The information that turns an enquiry into an accurate quote. Have it ready and the quote comes back faster and closer to the final price.

  • Collection and delivery postcodes with site contacts
  • Dimensions, weight and packaging of the load
  • Loading facilities at each end: forklift, dock, tail lift needed, hand-ball
  • Collection window and required delivery time
  • Any site rules: booking-in, PPE, vehicle restrictions
  • Whether a return load or additional drop is likely

How it works

  1. Consignment details

Size, weight, packaging, addresses and timing. A photo of the load helps.

  2. Vehicle and quote

We match the vehicle class to the load and quote the route, time allowances and any extras in writing.

  3. Collection

The driver arrives in the agreed window, checks the load against the paperwork and secures it.

  4. Direct delivery

Driven straight to the delivery point. You can have the driver's ETA on request.

  5. Proof of delivery

Signed for on arrival, with a note of the condition on delivery.

One vehicle. One load. One driver, door to door.

No depot, no transhipment, no other customer's goods. Dedicated means exactly that.

Questions people ask

What is the difference between dedicated and same-day?

Dedicated means only your goods are on the vehicle; same-day describes the timing. Many same-day jobs are dedicated, but a dedicated vehicle can also be booked days ahead for a planned delivery.

Will the driver help load?

Where the load can be handled safely by one person, yes. For heavy or palletised goods we assume a forklift or tail lift; tell us what is available and we will send the right vehicle and crew.

Can you deliver at a fixed time?

We can quote for a booked delivery slot. Traffic and site delays are outside anyone's control, so we will be honest about the margin we need and keep you informed on the day.

Do you carry hazardous goods?

Tell us what the goods are before booking. Some classes cannot be carried on our vehicles and we would rather say so up front than refuse a load at the door.

Can I track the vehicle?

We can give you the driver's expected arrival time and update you on the day. Ask when you book if you need regular updates.
