Pallet delivery on our own vehicles, with a tail lift where there is no forklift

Collection and delivery of palletised goods on our own tail-lift vehicles, from a single pallet to a full load, without a network hub in between.

What it is

Pallet networks are built around hubs: your pallet is collected, driven to a depot, trans-shipped overnight and delivered by a different vehicle. That works for volume, but every transfer is a chance for damage or delay, and it is the wrong tool for a single fragile pallet, a delivery to a residential street or a site with a tight slot.

Our pallet delivery keeps goods on one vehicle. We collect from your premises or supplier, secure the pallet in the vehicle, and deliver direct. Where the delivery point has no forklift we use a tail lift and pallet truck to bring the goods to the kerb or, where the ground allows, inside.

It suits businesses sending machinery, building materials, packaged stock or bulky goods to customers who may not have loading facilities, and private customers receiving something heavy such as a kitchen, flooring or garden building delivered on a pallet.

Pallets are quoted per consignment based on the number, size and weight of the pallets, the distance and the facilities at each end. Tell us if a pallet is oversized, top-heavy or fragile so the right vehicle and handling can be planned.

What affects the price

No figures until we know the job. These are the things that move a pallet delivery quote up or down, and why.

  • Number and size of palletsstandard, oversized

Standard pallets are quoted per pallet; oversized or overweight pallets need more vehicle and more handling.

  • Facilities at each endforklift or tail lift

A forklift at both ends makes the job quick. A tail lift and pallet truck take longer and need firm, level ground at the delivery point.

  • Distancedirect mileage

Because the pallet travels direct, the price relates to the actual distance rather than a network zone.

  • Delivery typekerbside or inside

Kerbside is the standard. Delivery inside a building, up a step or across a gravel drive needs different handling and is quoted for.

  • Timingbooked slots

A specific slot at a commercial site is quoted for what it takes to hold it.

How our pricing works, in full

What we need from you

The information that turns an enquiry into an accurate quote. Have it ready and the quote comes back faster and closer to the final price.

  • Number of pallets, dimensions and weight of each
  • How the goods are packed and whether they can be stacked
  • Forklift availability at collection and delivery
  • Ground conditions at delivery: level, hard standing, steps
  • Booking-in requirements and site contacts
  • Required delivery date

How it works

  1. Pallet details

Count, dimensions, weight and facilities at each end.

  2. Quote

Vehicle, handling method, delivery date and the price in writing.

  3. Collection

Pallets checked, loaded by forklift or tail lift, secured for the road.

  4. Direct delivery

Unloaded by tail lift and pallet truck if there is no forklift; signed proof of delivery.

Your pallet on our vehicle, from your door to theirs.

No hub, no transfer, no second vehicle. Tail lift and pallet truck where there is no forklift.

Questions people ask

Can you deliver a pallet to a house?

Yes, to the kerb or as close as the ground allows with a pallet truck. Steps, gravel and steep drives are the usual limits; tell us about them in advance.

Is this cheaper than a pallet network?

For a single pallet on a long route, a network may be cheaper. For anything fragile, awkward, timed or going somewhere without a forklift, direct delivery is often better value once damage and redelivery are considered. We will tell you honestly which suits your job.

What is the maximum pallet weight you can handle by tail lift?

It depends on the vehicle and the pallet truck. Give us the weight and we will confirm whether it can be handled by tail lift or needs a forklift at the delivery point.

Do you supply pallets or wrap goods?

Goods should be palletised and wrapped before collection. If you need help with this, ask and we will tell you what can be arranged.

Can the driver take the empty pallet away?

By arrangement, yes. Tell us when you book.
