Freight
Nationwide distribution from an East London base
Planned road freight from London to every part of England, Scotland and Wales: regular runs, scheduled deliveries and one-off consignments on the right vehicle.
What it is
Ilford sits at the junction of the A12, the A406 and the M11, twenty minutes from the M25 and the Dartford Crossing. From here the motorway corridors reach every part of the country, which is why a base in East London is a practical place to run nationwide freight from rather than simply a place to collect from.
Nationwide distribution is planned freight rather than urgent freight. It suits businesses that send goods to customers, branches or sites around the country on a regular basis and want a carrier who knows their consignments, their delivery points and their paperwork. It also suits one-off consignments where the delivery date matters but not the hour, and where a planned route is more economical than a dedicated vehicle.
We quote per consignment or per route, on vehicles from long-wheelbase vans to 7.5-tonne trucks with tail lifts. Loads are collected from your premises or a supplier, secured for the road, and delivered with a signed proof of delivery. Where several consignments share a route we tell you, so you know what you are paying for and when to expect it.
For customers with regular movements we can set up a schedule: fixed collection days, known delivery windows, agreed rates and one invoice. That is described on our business contract work page.
What affects the price
No figures until we know the job. These are the things that move a nationwide distribution quote up or down, and why.
- Distance and regioncorridors and mileage
The cost of reaching a delivery point depends on how far it is from our base and from other work on the same day. Some regions are served more often than others; ask about yours.
- Consignment sizeboxes to full loads
Volume and weight decide the vehicle and whether the consignment travels alone or on a planned route.
- Planned or dedicatedthe main lever
Accepting a planned slot rather than a dedicated vehicle is the single biggest thing that reduces the price of a nationwide delivery.
- Delivery requirementstail lift, booking-in, timed
Sites that need a tail lift, a booked slot or a timed delivery are quoted for what they need.
- Frequencyone-off or regular
Regular movements can be priced on a schedule; see business contract work.
What we need from you
The information that turns an enquiry into an accurate quote. Have it ready and the quote comes back faster and closer to the final price.
- Collection and delivery addresses with contacts
- Consignment details: pieces, dimensions, weight, packaging
- Required delivery date and any fixed time window
- Loading and unloading facilities at each end
- Site rules: booking-in, security, vehicle limits
- Whether the movement will repeat
How it works

Questions people ask
Do you deliver to Scotland and Wales?
Yes. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Cardiff, Swansea and the areas around them are on our routes, and remoter addresses can be quoted individually.
What is the difference between this and pallet delivery?
Pallet delivery describes the packaging: goods on a pallet handled by tail lift or forklift. Nationwide distribution covers any packaging on our own vehicles, palletised or not.
Can you collect from my supplier and deliver to my customer?
Yes. Three-party movements are common. Give us the contact at each end and we will manage the collection.
How do I know when a delivery will arrive?
The quote states the delivery date or window, and we can update you on the day. Timed deliveries are available where the site needs them.
Do I get proof of delivery?
Yes. A signed and timed proof of delivery is sent to you for each consignment.
Ready to quote your nationwide distribution?
Send a quick enquiry or the detailed brief. Either way you get a written quote, not a phone estimate.
