What we move, and how

Every service has its own page: what it is, who it suits, what changes the price and what we need from you to quote it.

What size van do I need?

Tick the furniture and boxes you have, or pick your property size, and see the vehicle class it adds up to before anyone quotes you.

Most disputes about removals prices come from the wrong vehicle turning up. A load that does not fit means a second trip or a second van, and neither was in the quote. Our estimator uses standard trade volumes for each item to total your move in cubic feet and match it to a vehicle class, so the conversation starts from the right place.

It is an estimate to guide your quote, not a binding assessment. Its answer carries straight into the detailed brief with one click.

  • Small van  ·  1.8 × 1.2 × 1.2 m
  • SWB panel van  ·  2.4 × 1.7 × 1.4 m
  • LWB high-roof van  ·  3.4 × 1.7 × 1.9 m
  • Luton with tail lift  ·  4.0 × 2.0 × 2.2 m
  • 7.5-tonne box truck  ·  6.0 × 2.4 × 2.4 m
  • Above that: two vehicles or a survey

Load dimensions are internal length × width × height.

03   How pricing works

The price you agree is the price you pay, unless the job changes.

A removals or freight quote is a description of a job. If the job on the day matches the description, the price stands. If it does not, the difference is shown line by line. That is the whole idea.

What we quote on

  • Volume: what is actually moving
  • Access: floors, lifts, carry distance, parking
  • Distance and driving time
  • Crew and vehicle needed for the job
  • Extras you ask for: packing, dismantling, timed slots

What we never do

  • Quote a figure before we understand the job
  • Add charges on the day that were not in the quote
  • Send a vehicle we know is too small
  • Promise a delivery time we cannot plan for
  • Describe an enquiry as a confirmed booking

How a move day runs

The same sequence whether it is a studio flat or a four-bedroom house. Times and crew change; the order does not.

  1. Arrival in the agreed window

The crew introduces themselves, walks the property with you and checks the plan against what they see.

  2. Protection first

Floor runners, door-frame guards and blankets go down before anything is lifted.

  3. Dismantle, wrap, stage

Beds and wardrobes come apart, sofas and mattresses are wrapped, and items are staged by the door in loading order.

  4. Load for the road

Heavy and square items first, soft items to fill, everything strapped so nothing shifts on the A12.

  5. Unload room by room

Boxes to the rooms on their labels, furniture placed and reassembled, packaging removed.

  6. Walk-round before we leave

Anything in the wrong place is moved then and there. Then we go.
